Desiree Miller. Or Des. That’s what my friends call me. Feel free to join them. I love travel and enjoy sharing the world with other people, through retreats, group getaways, and travel shows I work on, along with my book, videos, podcast, and blog.
I’m an award-winning freelance writer and former television news journalist, digital media producer, and podcaster who loves to travel for business and pleasure. I’ve written a travel book called “101 True Tales from the Terminal” packed with essays about wild, wacky, and wonderful things that happen in the airport and on a plane. My podcast is called Time to Talk Travel, and the weekly episodes are designed for travel lovers, whether you have your next trip planned, are looking for inspiration, or just want to live vicariously through others. I’m a field producer and writer for three travel shows, all shot on small ships leading people around the world. I also share stories of inspiration, hope, and humor on my personal site, Stress-free, Baby (that comma changes everything, doesn’t it?), and regularly contribute to 365AtlantaTraveler.com and PrimeWomen.com, because, well, I’m that age now.
Beyond the blogs, I write content for Local Now, a streaming service and app filled with news and helpful content for living a better life. I produce travel videos for Local Now for the WanderLust show. Before that, I produced video news segments that reached more than half of America’s households during their local television newscasts.
I was recognized as the 2014 winner of the “We Still Blog” national award and previously named Atlanta’s Top Blogger by WXIA. I’m a parent influencer/contributor for WSB-TV in Atlanta and am named to the Top 25 Southern Mom Blogs. I’m also a member of the American Society of Journalists and Authors and the Society of American Travel Writers.
